Started by myself; Adam McVey, BENCEL begun as a solo project, & has evolved into a collaborative project featuring 8 musicians, from multiple styles & genres.
My goal is to collaborate, write & perform with as many different musicians as possible. To date, BENCEL has been a recording project, with each song being released digitally on all streaming platforms, but I am working to get a band together to perform live in the near future.
The BENCEL sound is definitely inspired by my love for the 90s; bands like The Verve, Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Charlatans, The Happy Mondays etc are a massive influence on my songwriting. Whist the songs are written by me, all the featured musicians have full creative freedom to create their own parts, & put their own spin on the songs.
